Job Description
Designs and develops specially designed mathematics curriculum for students in self-contained special education classrooms. Ensures alignment to state standards while prioritizing accessibility through scaffolded, individualized supports and effective instructional practices that promote student growth and independence. Partners with campus and central teams to support strong implementation and continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

- Designs and develops specially designed math curriculum for self-contained SPED classrooms, including modified content, scaffolded lessons, and individualized supports
- Creates instructional materials aligned to IEP goals, alternate standards, and differentiated learning pathways
- Develops job-embedded professional learning to support teachers in implementing specialized instructional strategies and accommodations
- Evaluates curriculum for accessibility, compliance, and effectiveness for students with diverse cognitive and learning needs
- Collaborates with SPED specialists, therapists, and instructional teams to ensure alignment and appropriateness of materials
- Uses student performance data and feedback to continuously refine curriculum and intervention supports
Job Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years experience in special education or math instruction, preferably in self-contained settings
TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Software Oracle SAP Microsoft Office Teacher Certification (Special Education preferred) Other: Differentiation, IEP development, alternate curriculum design Equipment Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier)
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Level 1-No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
No budget development activity is required.

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
