CT Technologist

Location: Imaging facility with three locations, short travel may be required.

CT Technologist Job Summary:

Performs and assists with high quality diagnostic CT procedures, focusing on patient care and education. Supports and helps achieve departmental goals. Technologist effectively participates and promotes excellence in medical service.

CT Technologist Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality diagnostic CT imaging
  • Educates patients and family
  • Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.
  • Completes necessary administrative tasks. ie: time reports, billing, QA, ACR accreditation, etc.
  • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.
  • Assists the Radiologist in performing interventional procedures
  • Complies with all safety policies and regulations.
  • Maintains current permits and licensure.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Job Requirements

CT Technologist Job Requirements include:

  • CT Tech Education: Professional School
  • CT Tech Certifications: ARRT, MRT or TMB
  • CRT certificate issued by California Department Public Health
  • CT Tech Experience: Previous CT tech experience or recent completion of CT clinical program preferred.
  • Ability to perform to the Standard of Care for Radiology
  • Mental and Emotional Requirements: The technologist must manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger/fear/hostility/violence, handle multiple priorities and be able to work alone.
  • Venipuncture completion

Environmental Conditions:

The technologist may be exposed to toxics/caustics/chemicals/detergents x-ray/electromagnetic energy, mechanical parts, electrical shock, communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens. The incumbent will spend the majority of their time indoors.

 

Physical Demands:

Lifting 10 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This position also requires that the technologist, on some occasions, must be able to lift and/or carry items up to 25 pounds, push or pull items having a maximum weight of 50 pounds and be able to stoop, bend or kneel as necessary. During normal execution of the responsibilities of this job, the technologist will sit approximately 40% of the time, stand 30% of the time and walk 30% of the time. This position will also require nominal repetitive arm/hand movements and the technologist must have visual acuity for near objects.

Skills Required

  • Professional school education in radiologic technology
  • Certification: ARRT, MRT, or TMB
  • CRT certificate issued by California Department of Public Health
  • Previous CT technologist experience or recent completion of CT clinical program
  • Maintain current permits and licensure
  • Ability to perform to the Standard of Care for Radiology
  • Completion of venipuncture training
  • Ability to manage stress, make decisions under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and work alone
