A Brief Overview
Functions as an extension of the Manager to facilitate imaging services and develop immediate and future goals and objectives for the CT area. The position collaborates with other services and synergizes with co-workers to accommodate patient, family, physician, and co-worker needs. This position is also responsible for performing CT diagnostic procedures and exams for patients as ordered.
What you will do

  • Conducts and coordinates staff/student on the job training and orientation and monitors educational needs of staff.
  • Coordinates the scheduling process and participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the department.
  • Comprehends/interprets Avera policy and procedures and instructs staff appropriately for compliance purposes.
  • Provides input for the development of the annual department budget.
  • Explains procedures to patients and performs CT procedures as ordered by a physician.
  • Assists with the collection and maintenance of records as needed by the Radiology Department, Quality Assurance Department, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines or as required by law.
  • Assists with review and revision of operating policies, procedures, and plans for the CT areas and assures implementation and compliance.
  • Serves as a resource in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, protocols, and standards of care.
  • Maintains clinical competency and projects exacting standards of performance expectations for personnel within the CT department.
  • Assumes daily management responsibilities in the absences of the manager.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Associate's six months to one year related experience and /or training; and or equivalent combination of education and experience or
  • Technical Certificate six months to one year related experience and/or training. and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) ARRT - CT Registration Upon Hire and
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) ARRT (R) Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years CT experience and/or training
