The ChristianaCare West Grove location is currently recruiting for a Full-Time CT Scan Technologist I.
Shift:
7:30a - 4p and other hours as needed.
Weekends as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT Scanner Units, radiology supported
computer systems and CD Burners.
- Performs CT procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
- Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
- Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
- Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
- Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
- Uses 3 patient identifiers at all times
- Maintains patient confidentially.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a two-year program in Radiologic Technology is required.
- Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required (achieved within two years of hire).
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection is as required.
- Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
- Certification in CPR.
- An associate’s degree is preferred for this position.
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
- Completion of IV training course.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- State Licensure on Radiation Protection if applicable
- The successful completion of the CT Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.
- Completion of IV training course.
