POSITION OVERVIEW
The CSRE Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of software solutions that support Corporate Services & Real Estate functions, including facilities management, real estate operations, workplace services, and sustainability initiatives.
This role serves as the technical lead within the software development team, translating CSRE business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable applications, while setting engineering standards and mentoring developers.
Key responsibilities:
- Software Engineering Leadership
- Act as technical lead for CSRE-focused software development initiatives
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, architecture standards, and coding guidelines
- Review solution designs, code, and technical documentation
- Mentor and guide software engineers, fostering high-quality engineering practices
- Application Design & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting:
- Real estate portfolio management
- Facilities and maintenance operations
- Workplace services and employee experience platforms
- Capital project tracking and reporting
- Build scalable APIs, services, and integrations with enterprise systems (ERP, HR, Finance)
- Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and compliant with enterprise IT standards
- Business Partnership (CSRE Focus)
- Partner closely with CSRE stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and strategic goals
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps
- Provide technical guidance on system capabilities, limitations, and trade-offs
- Delivery & Operations
- Lead technical delivery in an agile environment (planning, estimation, execution)
- Support production deployments, monitoring, and issue resolution
- Drive automation, testing, and CI/CD practices to improve quality and speed
- Ensure proper documentation, support handover, and knowledge transfer
- Data, Reporting & Insights
- Enable data integration and reporting for CSRE systems (dashboards, analytics, KPIs)
- Support sustainability, space utilization, and cost optimization initiatives through data-driven solutions
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or similar combination or education and experience.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of professional software development experience
- Prior experience as a technical lead or senior engineer
- Experience delivering enterprise applications in a regulated or corporate environment
- Exposure to real estate, facilities, or corporate services systems
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in software development (backend, frontend, or full stack)
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Experience with:
- Web application frameworks and APIs (REST, GraphQL)
- Cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure)
- Databases (SQL and NoSQL)
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with enterprise integrations (ServiceNow, Jira, Workday, Everbridge)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders
- Comfortable balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, consultative mindset
