JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary

Provides clinical services consistent with established guidelines for best practice interventions, including evaluation and individual, group, family, or couple’s psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, and children within the assigned service area.

The Crisis Clinician delivers mobile, community-based crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises across a five-county service area. This is an experienced clinical role, not an entry-level position.

The Crisis Clinician must meet Illinois Medicaid Mental Health Professional (MHP) requirements and possess a strong foundation of clinical skills to independently assess, intervene, and document high-acuity crisis situations.

While clinical consultation is available 24/7, this position requires a high level of professionalism, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, high-stress environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical evaluations and crisis assessments for individuals experiencing acute mental health needs
  • Deliver individual, group, family, and/or couple’s psychotherapy services as appropriate
  • Provide mobile crisis intervention services in community-based settings
  • Complete risk assessments, safety planning, and disposition planning
  • Collaborate with emergency services, hospitals, law enforcement, and community partners as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Medicaid and agency standards
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment while working independently
  • Participate in clinical consultation and supervision as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
Provide excellent customer service to individuals seeking our services.
QUALIFICATIONS
        
Education Level              
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field is required.
Years of Experience       
Three to five years’ experience in behavioral health environment is preferred.  Experience in evidence-based and best practices interventions is preferred. 
Certification/Licensure 
Must be licensed eligible and actively working toward acquisition of licensure.

$18.20--$25.50
