Responsibilities

About the role:

Credit Specialist I - CVL - supports the credit review and underwriting process for commercial lending customers by analyzing financial information, evaluating credit risk, and assisting with credit decisions. This role works closely with dealers, sales partners, and internal teams to help ensure sound lending practices, maintain portfolio quality, and deliver excellent customer service while supporting business growth objectives.
 
** This is a temporary 6-month contractor role.
 

In this role you will:

  • Accurately research Secretary of State websites on CVL Business Customers to validate business legitimacy and status, and record results in the CVL underwriting system.
  • Perform research to identify any existing/previous GM Financial vehicle loans/leases originated in either the CVL Business Customer’s and/or Guarantor’s name, and document results in the CVL underwriting system.
  • Request and capture Dunn & Bradstreet business reports and personal credit bureau reports within the CVL underwriting system on Business Customers and Guarantors.
  • Perform Lexis Nexis searches and capture results within the CVL underwriting system on Business Customers and Guarantors.
  • Conduct OFAC research of all identified Owners using Bridger Insight, and document results in the CVL underwriting system.
  • Create/Enter New Express Line of Credit requests through Salesforce as leads are provided by Commercial Credit Analyst I.
  • Assist with Auto Approval type Credit Applications.
  • Monitor Credit related group mailboxes and handle/route as appropriate.
  • Monitor Dealer Chats and forward information to necessary parties.
  • Review Lease Return emails and route to assigned CVAM.
  • Perform ad-hoc requests and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • General knowledge of the vehicle financing process flow from dealer application submittal, credit analysis and decision making, through contract funding a plus.
  • Familiarity with business and consumer credit reports a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products a plus.Ability to manage assigned tasks and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stressful situations
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:  

  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection 

Work Experience & Education

  • High energy and fast paced office environment subject to stressful conditions and required deadlines.
  • Work schedule will include some nights, weekends, and holidays.
