Job Summary
As a Credit Operations Manager III (Vice President) within Card Lending Services, you will lead multiple commercial credit analyst teams and the proof of income team. You will manage daily operations, drive process improvements, and ensure high-quality underwriting for business and corporate card requests. You will collaborate with internal partners, develop team talent, and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance our customer experience and operational effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of commercial credit analyst teams and the proof of income team
- Provide direct feedback and coaching to analysts, enhancing underwriting rationale and performance
- Oversee schedule adherence, production standards, turnaround times, and quality metrics
- Conduct in-person and virtual side-by-side reviews to guide team members and improve outcomes
- Manage departmental reporting and review daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports
- Handle inquiry and escalation calls, resolving issues efficiently
- Identify operational efficiencies and recommend process improvements
- Support management in developing and implementing strategies to improve quality and close process gaps
- Build strong working relationships with internal partners, including Business Development and Risk Policy
- Complete ad-hoc projects and requests as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental practices and procedures
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum five years of commercial operations management experience in business or commercial card lending
- Minimum five years of commercial and business judgmental underwriting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related discipline
- Successful completion of a major corporate bank commercial training program or equivalent corporate banking, finance, or accounting experience
- Strong accounting and finance knowledge, with commercial banking experience and thorough understanding of financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flow
- In-depth understanding of judgmental commercial credit risk assessment and proficiency in commercial underwriting transactions for all industries, line sizes, and complexity
- Superior oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders at various levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach problems logically and make sound decisions quickly and effectively
- Proven track record in coaching, talent development, and managing within a high-paced team environment
- Demonstrated resiliency, adaptability, and results-oriented mindset in a fast-paced setting, with flexibility to adapt to changing volumes, tasks, and priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and proprietary systems, with ability to navigate multiple systems and windows simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- MBA or advanced degree in a business-related discipline
- Experience in developing and implementing credit policy revisions
- Proven ability to drive operational change and process optimization
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a large financial institution
- Advanced analytical skills for complex credit scenarios
- Demonstrated success in managing remote or distributed teams
- Experience with commercial card products and services
