As a Credit Monitoring Quality Control Associate within Wholesale Lending Services, you review and validate the work performed by credit monitoring analysts to confirm covenant compliance results align with the borrower’s credit agreement terms. You provide a secondary interpretation of financial and other covenants, independently re-perform key calculations, and clearly communicate issues to drive timely correction and resolution. You will support monitoring across syndicated loans and bilateral agreements while helping strengthen quality practices and controls. 

Job responsibilities

  • Enforce established quality control standards and service level expectations with internal business partners
  • Review credit monitoring work to confirm borrowers with covenant breaches and resulting defaults are correctly identified
  • Explain issues found and guide corrections to ensure accurate resolution and documentation
  • Interpret credit agreements and related legal documents to determine required parties (for example, co-borrowers and guarantors) for setup in our system of record
  • Validate that credit agreement terms are accurately set up in the tracking system for ongoing covenant evaluation
  • Perform credit analysis and documentation review to confirm ongoing compliance with financial covenants
  • Recalculate cash flow and leverage ratios in line with agreement-specific definitions as an independent second check
  • Build and maintain working knowledge of secured lending products, including borrowing base credit facilities
  • Monitor the control and operational environment for changes that could impact quality control testing
  • Partner with leadership to reinforce effective quality program practices and support quality initiatives
  • Recommend process, service, and system improvements to strengthen quality and efficiency 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3 years of experience in banking and/or financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience with credit monitoring activities, including legal documentation review, financial covenants, credit analysis, and ratio calculations
  • Ability to identify, summarize, and clearly document key points in written reviews of credit-related transactions
  • Understanding of common loan products and structures (for example, revolving lines of credit, term loans, and borrowing base facilities)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across levels and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including strong time management and prioritization skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Experience interpreting and applying financial covenant definitions directly from credit agreements
  • Exposure to syndicated loan and/or bilateral agreement monitoring
  • Experience supporting a quality control, testing, audit, or process excellence function within lending operations
  • Interest or exposure to assessing credit risk for real estate developers, investors, and real estate operating companies
  • Experience contributing to control environment enhancements and operational risk improvements
  • Familiarity with setting up and maintaining loan/covenant data in a system of record or tracking tool
