As a Trading Support Associate in the Credit Middle Office, you will support the trading desk by capturing credit transactions accurately in risk management systems and completing intraday and end-of-day processes. You will perform key controls, manage breaks and exceptions, and coordinate with settlements, operations, compliance, and other partners to ensure timely resolution. You will also build product and lifecycle knowledge and contribute to process improvements that strengthen efficiency and controls.

Job responsibilities

  • Capture credit transactions accurately and on time in risk management systems to support trading and risk reporting.
  • Complete intraday and end-of-day processes, including completeness checks and reconciliations, to confirm trading activity is reflected correctly.
  • Perform required controls and maintain evidence of completion within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate with settlements, operations, compliance, and other teams to resolve breaks, questions, and exceptions.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders to manage dependencies and drive timely outcomes.
  • Build understanding of trading structures and lifecycle events to support correct booking and downstream processing.
  • Support process improvements and strategic initiatives that enhance efficiency, controls, and operating model consistency.
     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in investment banking operations.
  • Understanding of credit derivatives and hedging products, including credit default swaps, credit bonds, credit linked notes, and total return swaps.
  • Knowledge of the front-to-back operations process, including confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Understanding of key partner functions such as finance, market risk, credit risk, operational risk, legal, and collateral, and how trade support impacts these areas.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain issues clearly and challenge appropriately when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset for deliverables.
  • Ability to perform in a pressurised, fast-changing environment with strong teamwork and reliability.
  • Strong control mindset, with basic project management skills to support process improvements.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Microsoft Excel VBA experience.
  • Familiarity with automation and analytics tools such as UiPath, Alteryx, and Tableau.
