Overview:

Sentara Health is currently recruiting for a Full-Time day shift, Credit Balance Specialist in Hampton Roads, Virginia.

This position is hybrid with 1 day weekly in the office located at Norfolk, VA

Responsibilities : 

Accountable for daily operational tasks associated with revenue cycle accounts receivable. This position is accountable for follow-up and timely and effectively managing requests from insurance payers, secondary, and tertiary payers. Ability to accurately and efficiently research account discrepancies to determine proper action needed to resolve credits. Submit online secure message and/or 151 Adjustment Request Form and EOB/supporting documentation. Follow up on secure message and 151 form submitted.

 

Education

  • High School Grad or Equivalent.

Certification/Licensure

  • Diploma/Certification in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding, in lieu of the years of experience.

Experience

  • Ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of Insurance Claims or Billing Experience.
  • Must be detail oriented, knowledgeable of medical billing processes, efficient with electronic systems and processes, ability to read EOBs, understand COB guidelines, and able to work independently.
  • Knowledgeable of Anthem processes is ideal.
