The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing loan applications, conducting customer due diligence, monitoring portfolios, ensuring compliance, and preparing reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Credit Appraisal & Analysis
- Analyze
loan applications for completeness and compliance with lending
requirements.
- Conduct
financial analysis of customers including:
- Income
assessment
- Cash
flow analysis
- Debt
service capacity
- Business
performance analysis
- Review
customer bank statements, financial statements, and supporting documents.
- Assess
customer repayment ability and identify key credit risks.
- Prepare
detailed credit appraisal reports and recommendations.

B. Customer Due Diligence
- Conduct
Know Your Customer (KYC) and customer verification checks.
- Review
customer credit history from Credit Reference Bureaus (CRB).
- Perform
background checks on borrowers and guarantors.
- Conduct
site visits and business assessments where required.
- Identify
early warning signs and suspicious transactions.
C. Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor
performance of approved facilities.
- Track
overdue accounts and identify potential problem loans.
- Support
periodic loan reviews and portfolio quality assessments.
- Monitor
covenant compliance and facility conditions.
- Assist
in monitoring Portfolio at Risk (PAR) indicators.
D. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure
loan files contain complete and properly approved documentation.
- Ensure
compliance with:
- Bank
Credit Policy
- Bank
of Tanzania regulations
- AML/CFT
requirements
- Internal
lending procedures
- Maintain
proper credit records and filing systems.
- Ensure
conditions precedent are fulfilled before disbursement.
E. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare
periodic credit analysis and portfolio reports.
- Maintain
accurate customer and facility information in the Core Banking System.
- Support
preparation of:
- Disbursement
reports
- PAR
reports
- Sector
exposure analysis
- Credit
committee papers
- Assist
Finance and Risk departments during audits and reviews.
F. Credit Committee Support
- Prepare
loan proposals for Credit Committee review.
- Present
findings and recommendations during credit discussions where required.
- Track
approved conditions and follow-up actions.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s
degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Business
Administration, or related field.
- Professional
qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, etc.) is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum
2–4 years’ experience in credit analysis, lending, or banking operations.
- Experience
in microfinance or SME lending is an added advantage.
- Familiarity
with financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Experience
using Core Banking Systems and Microsoft Excel.
