  • Collaborate with Senior Credit Officers to prepare credit approvals, post-approval memorandums, and re-approval requests while supporting complex underwriting decisions
  • Partner with Loan Closing teams to ensure loans are funded efficiently and all credit approval conditions, third-party reports, and closing requirements are satisfied
  • Build strong working relationships across Lending, Credit, Loan Closing, and external partners to deliver a consistent, high-quality client experience
  • Identify opportunities to improve underwriting workflows and leverage AI where appropriate to accelerate analysis, streamline processes, and improve decision quality while maintaining sound judgment and regulatory compliance

About You

  • 3–5 years of experience underwriting SBA and USDA loans; bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Working knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and SBA lending programs
  • Experience analyzing business financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and credit structures to support sound lending decisions
  • Experience reviewing third-party reports, including appraisals, environmental reports, and business valuations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across internal teams, clients, and external partners
  • Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment when balancing client needs, credit quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, cash flow analysis software, and other credit underwriting tools
  • You proactively identify opportunities to improve how work gets done and take ownership of delivering accurate, timely credit decisions
