Job Summary:
The Credit Analyst II is responsible for independently underwriting commercial loan requests with moderate complexity. This is an intermediate-level role, building on foundational credit skills, focusing on financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit structuring. Analysts in this tier work closely with senior credit staff and lending teams to prepare credit packages and support sound credit decisions, while continuing to deepen their understanding of commercial lending policy, credit procedures, and industry risks.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Independently spread financial statements and perform detailed financial analysis for commercial borrowers.
- Underwrite loan requests, including renewals and modifications, with limited oversight.
- Preparing credit underwriting, including financial analysis, risk ratings, and policy compliance checks.
- Evaluate and interpret borrower financial health using ratio analysis, cash flow modeling, and trend identification.
- Conduct industry and market research to support credit structuring and risk assessment.
- Continue to develop skills in collaborating with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to understand loan requests, clarify deal terms, and build foundational knowledge for loan structuring.
- Continue to hone knowledge in collateral valuation, including developing a deeper understanding of appraisal reports, internal valuation processes, and environmental risk considerations.
- Perform loan portfolio monitoring by preparing covenant checks and annual reviews and assisting with risk rating recommendations.
- Ensure credit requests align with bank policy, regulatory requirements, and overall risk appetite.
- Participate in internal credit discussions with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain working knowledge of the Bank’s commercial loan policy, credit procedures, and risk frameworks.

Skills and Qualifications:

- 2-5 years of experience in commercial credit analysis or related financial role.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields.
- Proficiency in financial statements analysis and ratio interpretation.
- Familiarity with tax returns, compiled/reviewed/audited financials, and cash flow analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft credit memos and present findings.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments independently and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated understanding of business, economic, and industry risk factors.
Computer and Office Equipment Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
