About The Role:

As a Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting mortgage brokers through the assessment and submission lifecycle for the Australian home loan market. This role requires strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of lender policies, and the ability to complete accurate, compliant, and timely loan assessments.

You will be responsible for reviewing client files, assessing scenarios, preparing preliminary assessments and application forms, checking lender requirements, and identifying missing documents before submission. You will also work closely with brokers, Loan Processing Specialists, lenders, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth file progression from assessment through to post-submission and post-settlement support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex scenarios, working with detailed information, learning lender policies, and contributing to the quality and accuracy of mortgage brokerage services.

About You:
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, compliance, and strong attention to detail are valued.
  • You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks, and understand that even small documentation or data errors can lead to serious compliance risks.
  • You are proactive in finding solutions, asking the right questions, and contacting lenders or internal stakeholders to clarify requirements when needed.
  • You have a strong desire to learn and develop professionally, especially in credit assessment, lender policies, loan structures, and the Australian home loan market.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally with brokers, Loan Processing Specialists, and team members to ensure smooth coordination and timely file progression.
  • You are organised, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy in your work.
  • You collaborate well with others, support team success, and are open to sharing knowledge when required.
  • If you prefer routine tasks with limited learning or are not comfortable taking ownership of accuracy and compliance, this role may not be the right fit.
Major Deliverables:
  • Assess client files once completed forms and required documents are received.
  • Contact lenders to determine client eligibility and identify suitable loan structures.
  • Prepare preliminary assessments and application forms before submission.
  • Review lender checklists, identify missing documents, and complete required loan checklists.
  • Identify and address compliance issues and inform brokers accordingly.
  • Support brokers in maintaining existing client portfolios and ensuring timely post-settlement service.
  • Follow approved processes for documentation, data security, client confidentiality, and ISO 27001:2022 requirements.
  • Support team development through knowledge sharing and guidance to new team members when required.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks, projects, and related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Apply if you have:

  • Master’s degree running or completed in Finance, Business, Management, or a related field, ACCA candidates with no more than 3 papers remaining, or semi-qualified CA candidates.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the finance sector.
  • Top-notch written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when reviewing loan files, documents, lender checklists, and compliance requirements.
  • Problem-solving ability and a solution-focused mindset.
  • General numerical and financial calculation skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and consistency.
  • A strong desire to learn and develop professionally, as there will be a significant learning curve.
  • Proficiency in Google Apps, including Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets.
  • Strong work ethics, accountability, and dependability.
