About This Role
Tumblr is looking for a socially savvy Creative Strategist who can translate the conversations, trends, and creative aesthetics of the platform into storytelling. To succeed, you’ll need a healthy mix of curiosity, collaboration, and creativity.
You will be part of a team focused on driving direct revenue via advertiser partnerships that leverage Tumblr’s unique audience, media solutions, Creatrs network, marketing initiatives, and new product offerings (ie. Merch, digital goods, Communities). As a Creative Strategist, you will help our team, our prospects, and our advertisers better understand the Tumblr audience and position Tumblr to agency and brand advertisers as a must-buy.
Who You Are:
- Deep knowledge of Tumblr, internet culture, and social media trends.
- Are tapped into where internet culture meets digital marketing, and can effectively communicate the unique value of Tumblr to our brand partners and their agencies.
- 5-8 years experience in creative strategy roles within social media, and/or agencies and/or creative studios.
- Able to navigate creative tools keynote/slides, Photoshop, gif/video editing.
- Strong written and visual communication skills. You excel at creating compelling audience stories, with insights, observations, and lived experiences
- Creative, flexible, and with a growth mindset. You are comfortable showing your work-in-progress, and welcome creative feedback to help you land on the best ideas.
- Strong and deadline focused multitasker, who can manage your own work while never passing up an opportunity to help out a colleague
- Are comfortable working in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
Primary responsibilities:
- Create both big ideas and creative tactics that tap into audience behaviors and trends, while delivering against the advertiser brief.
- Build copy and communications that reflect Tumblr’s unique brand of internet weirdness.
- Ability to pitch and sell concepts to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Design decks, assets, and other marketing materials to support sales efforts.
- Support Account Management in the execution of the creative elements and deliverables of sold campaigns.
- Work with our Creator Partnerships Manager to oversee the artist selection, concept approval, and creation of custom campaign assets.
- Support all Brand Partnership efforts to educate the market, and evangelize Tumblr as an effective organic and paid media channel for brand advertisers.
Salary range: $120,000-$180,000 USD. Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
