The newly formed custom content and branded production arm of Shutterstock – Shutterstock Studios – has an opening for a critical role within the global organization. This role will evolve and refine how we present ourselves creatively to clients and partners.

Shutterstock Studios has scaled from producing highly creative social content to delivering global campaigns including TV spots, integrated digital experiences, 3D animation, and original long-form documentaries. The Studio is a highly sophisticated, interconnected creative and production solution spanning video, photo, music, 3D, generative AI, animation, and XR.

We’re seeking a Creative Services Manager who thrives at the intersection of concept development, creative direction, and client storytelling. This leader will shape compelling pitches, inspire internal teams, and elevate the quality of creative output across the Studios portfolio.

The Day-to-Day
  • Develop innovative, brand-driven concepts for custom content programs that win new commercial partnerships and foster recurring business.

  • Lead creative on client pitches, inspiring confidence with strategic storytelling and strong presentation skills.

  • Drive creative ideation and direction from concept through delivery, ensuring the Creative Services team produces inspired, high-quality work

  • Build and design pitch decks, creative treatments, and pre-production presentations that bring ideas to life.

  • Provide creative direction and leadership across all phases of campaign development — ensuring elevated visual storytelling and consistent brand expression.

  • Partner with Sales, Strategy, and Production to align execution with creative intent.

  • Translate industry insights, cultural trends, and audience behaviors into strategic, actionable creative ideas.

  • Maintain creative excellence across Studios content by guiding internal teams and setting best practices for concepting and design.

  • Mentor and grow a small team of in-house and freelance creatives (2–3 people).

What You’ll Bring
  • 5–8 years of experience in creative direction, brand strategy, or integrated marketing, with client-facing responsibilities.

  • Proven ability to lead creative ideation and storytelling for global campaigns across multiple formats.

  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling across video, photography, social, experiential, and emerging media.

  • Experience guiding creative teams and providing clear direction, feedback, and vision.

  • Expertise in developing compelling RFP responses and narrative-driven pitches.

  • Exceptional design sense and presentation skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Keynote, G-Suite, Microsoft 365.

  • A passion for innovation and curiosity for emerging creative tools (AI, XR, interactive).

Bonus Skills
  • Graphic design or art direction background

  • Generative AI prompting and creative experimentation

  • Brand strategy and campaign architecture experience

  • A strong network of creative collaborators across industries

At Shutterstock, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates in locations outside of the location(s) below may differ based on the cost of labor, market, and additional factors.
 
The pay range for this position is below:

    • 120,000 - 140,000 per year in New York

Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.

The referenced salary range is based on the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
