Job Description
Join ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as a Creative Director. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Creative Director role, with a strong emphasis on writing and storytelling. Exceptional writing skills are essential, as this Creative Director will be responsible for developing manifestos, concepts, and scripts across a range of platforms, including social, digital, and traditional campaigns. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our brand voice, ensuring it remains fresh, impactful and relevant. They will bring groundbreaking conceptual thinking and creative expertise to produce transformative work that sets new standards for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creative Leadership: Guide the creative direction of a diverse portfolio, ensuring all content aligns with ALSAC’s strategic goals and brand standards.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Identify and implement solutions to creative challenges, leveraging industry best practices to foster a collaborative and innovative atmosphere.
• Project Management: Move projects forward through multiple organizational levels using strong presentation skills, tactful negotiation, and the ability to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
• Brand Evolution: Play a key role in evolving our brand voice, bringing fresh and groundbreaking conceptual thinking to create transformative work.
• Strategic Content Development: Leverage insights on audience segments to design and develop content that furthers the St. Jude brand, ensuring strategic targeting via appropriate channels.
• Team Guidance: Mentor and guide team members, ensuring efficient real-time production of creative content that aligns with overall campaign strategy and vision.
• External Collaboration: Serve as the project leader when working with external teams, maintaining positive relationships with third-party organizations and freelancers.
Essential Functions:
1. Implement creative and content strategies to meet ALSAC’s critical goals and support overall business objectives effectively and efficiently.
2. Oversee the creative operations of a cross-functional team, ensuring cohesive marketing and storytelling content that meets audience needs and motivations.
3. Establish and enforce policies and procedures to improve organizational effectiveness, operating within established budgetary parameters.
4. Maintain positive relationships with third-party organizations and freelancers, representing ALSAC-St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital positively.
5. Spearhead and manage the execution of creative strategies for projects of all scales, leading the creative team in producing assets for various media.
6. Utilize audience insights and performance data to inform creative decisions, ensuring content aligns with strategic direction.
7. Review and conceptualize new ideas, managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while actively participating in content production.
8. Lead content through the approval process, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and brand guidelines, and providing executive visibility into ongoing work.
9. Prioritize content ideas and requests, working with content producers from conception to completion, providing feedback and editing as needed.
10. Present concepts and creative rationale clearly and compellingly to engage and align key stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
• Knowledge: Thorough understanding of general management methods and content production processes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external relations.
• Experience: Proven ability to develop compelling and effective marketing creative, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years of experience, or 12+ years of relevant experience.
