The Role

We’re seeking a Creative Director, Gen AI to join our Brand Experience team - a hybrid thinker who bridges the worlds of AI-powered creativity and storytelling. You’ll explore how AI and emerging technologies can amplify creativity at scale, helping us redefine how ideas are imagined, built, and brought to life across our brand ecosystem. 

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of Design and Gen AI — someone who can prototype new tools, workflows, and experiences that push boundaries in how brands communicate, engage, and evolve in the age of AI.  

As the silos between design, copy, and code continue to dissolve, this role champions human x AI collaboration and set new standards for creative agility, integrity, and impact. 

You’ll lead a distributed team of designers, producers, animators to build assets, campaigns, workflows, and templates powered by AI. You’ll drive experimentation while protecting brand excellence. And you’ll ensure every creative output — whether a social asset, digital experience or a launch campaign reflects our evolving Brand language. 

As part of the Brand Experience team, you’ll help shape how the world sees Proofpoint - blending technology, creativity, and AI-enabled workflows to build a brand that’s as innovative, intelligent, and human as the people and date we secure 

Your Day to Day

AI-Enabled Creativity at Scale 

• Design, build, and optimize AI-assisted creative systems and workflows that help the Brand Experience team work faster and smarter. 
• Lead experimentation with generative AI across text, image, motion, and voice — creating brand-safe, high-quality outputs at scale. 
• Develop tools and processes that allow creatives to prototype, iterate, and produce storytelling content with greater agility. 
• Champion responsible and ethical AI use in creative expression, ensuring alignment with Proofpoint’s values of trust, compliance, and integrity. 

Conceptualization & Prototyping 

• Partner with designers, writers and SMEs to co-create concepts that merge narrative and technology. 
• Translate complex cybersecurity themes into human-centered creative experiences that educate and inspire. 

Research & Emerging Technology 

• Stay on the pulse of AI, Web3, and generative design — identifying opportunities for brand innovation. 
• Evaluate and pilot new tools to enhance storytelling, automation, and personalization. 

Collaboration & Cross-Discipline Integration 

• Act as a bridge between creative & stakeholder teams, translating ideas into working prototypes and scalable tools. 
• Document and evangelize best practices for AI-driven creative experimentation across the team. 

What you bring to the team

• 7+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary creative teams in branding, digital, or advertising (agency or in-house). 
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and emerging AI tools (Firefly, Midjourney, Runway, ChatGPT, Sora, etc.). 
• Proven experience applying AI tools in real workflows to enhance design speed, consistency, and quality. 
• Strong portfolio spanning brand systems, advertising, and presentations — with examples of AI-assisted or generative work. 
• Sharp creative instincts backed by data literacy and a respect for design governance. 
• Ability to translate complex technology into emotionally intelligent, visually distinct storytelling. 
• Exceptional communication skills and calm confidence in presenting to executives. 
• Empathy, mentorship, and emotional intelligence as everyday leadership traits.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below.
