We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Crating Specialist in Poestenkill, NY.
The Crating Specialist is responsible for reading and understanding assembly prints for the purpose of building various pieces of equipment and equipment packaging.
Here are some of the responsibilities of the position:
- Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and packaging specifications to construct shipping crates and prepare Gleeble systems and related equipment for domestic and international shipment. Operate carpentry tools, power tools, and material handling equipment as required.
- Perform mechanical assembly of Gleeble subassemblies, fixtures, and related equipment by following engineering drawings, assembly procedures, and work instructions. Support production activities as needed to meet delivery schedules.
- Perform finishing operations including surface preparation, painting, touch-up, cleaning, labeling, and final presentation of equipment and components prior to shipment.
- Support facility maintenance and improvement projects including painting, repairs, workspace organization, crating area maintenance, and other activities that contribute to a safe, efficient, and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives, customer requirements, production demands, and operational needs.
Academic/Professional Education: High school or GED
Military experience a plus
Relevant Experience: 3-5 years hands on experience
Technical Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanical assembly drawings, ability to work with numerous specialized hand tools
