The Role

As the CPA - Accounting Lead at Agora, you will be instrumental in driving our tax service sales and cross-sell efforts.

Your role will be crucial in our accounting efforts, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities to enhance tax efficiency.

This position requires expertise in real estate tax returns, exceptional client-facing skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit to drive innovation in our tax services. ​​

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Expansion: You will play a pivotal role in our cross-sell efforts, you will work with the Sales and CS departments to assist and support the sales and cross-sell processes and help expand existing clients. 
  • Strategic clients: Lead and participate in Tax service sales meetings with clients, prospects, and partners. Identify and target strategic prospects for our Tax services. Develop and execute sales strategies to meet Tax service revenue and growth targets. 
  • Partnerships: Oversee and nurture relationships with existing tax partners. Identify and evaluate potential new tax vendors/partners to ensure their professionalism and alignment with our company's values and goals. Negotiate and establish agreements with tax partners to optimize the services they provide to our customers.
  • Compliance: Identify and mitigate tax-related risks and ensure that all tax-related activities, including filing requirements, audits, and reporting, are executed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to maintain the company's reputation.
  • Service: Be on top of our tax partners' deliveries, ensuring accurate compliance, and timely submission of returns.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor for tax-related matters.
  • Tax Research: Stay current on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to make sure our partners are aligned.
  • Tax knowledge: Provide guidance, mentorship, and materials, and build the company's tax knowledge base.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in tax services by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and develop new service offerings.

Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, focusing primarily on real estate taxes.
  • Deal-closing and sales experience.
  • Proven leadership experience, including team management and development.
  • Exceptional client-facing capabilities with a track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Bookkeeping experience, advantage. 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in tax services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
