- Under the direction of the Senior Vice President, the person in this position is responsible for leading and directing the activities of the Covenant Group, including identifying, interviewing, hiring, and training. He/she will manage the process of collecting, analyzing, and performing analysis to ensure compliance with loan documents related to various covenants. He/she will also be responsible for managing a team of professionals tasked with ensuring borrowers are in compliance with loan documents specifically related to financial and non-financial covenants. Effective collaboration with account management teams to ensure timely and adequate responses to clients/investors, borrower, rating agencies and other industry participants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and direct the Covenant- Ops Analysts in order to meet/exceed all internal and external benchmarks.
- Lead and direct the Covenant- Ops Analysts with tasks related to servicing acquisitions.
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President in determining staffing needs and space.
- Interview applicants, make hiring recommendations, provide training, complete performance appraisals [DHP’s] as required/requested, and recommend salary increases.
- Review policies and procedures to ensure all procedures are implemented and followed appropriately.
- Communicate vertically to determine and establish departmental goals to meet company objectives. Continuously evaluate department progress in the attainment of the goals. Prepare monthly progress and status reports as requested.
- Recommend revisions to policies and procedures.
- Proactively identifies potential risk scenarios, develops solutions to mitigate risk, and escalates accordingly.
MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist Senior Vice President with special projects, as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four-year college degree and/or five years commercial real estate servicing experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical skills.
- Overall knowledge of commercial underwriting.
- Knowledge of operating statement review and interpretation.
- Experienced in drafting departmental policy and procedure manuals
- Knowledge of legal document review and interpretation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous management experience. Background in real estate servicing or transactions, accounting/auditing, or commercial loan underwriting. Efficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software. Such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with McCracken/Strategy and RECWeb loan servicing systems
