Through Jumpstart Refugee Talent, eligible clients can access free Coursera licenses to support clients professional development and career growth.
As part of our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for refugee talent in Canada, Jumpstart is offering access to Coursera, one of the world’s leading online learning platforms. Coursera includes 10,000+ courses and professional certificates from top companies and institutions such as Google, IBM, and Meta.
About the OpportunityThis is a self-learning upskilling opportunity for clients who are motivated and ready to invest in continuous learning.
Selected participants will receive free access to Coursera for up to 4 months. Licenses normally cost $540, but Jumpstart is making them available at no cost to eligible clients.
Licenses are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If all spots are filled, interested clients may be added to a waitlist and contacted when new licenses become available.
EligibilityTo be eligible, participants must have:
A reliable internet connection at home, a library, or another regular location
A personal device to access courses, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone
The ability to commit approximately 2.5 hours per week to upskilling
Interest in participating in a self-directed online learning opportunity
Free access to Coursera for up to 4 months
Access to thousands of online courses and professional certificates
Learning opportunities in high-demand fields from globally recognized organizations
A chance to build new skills and strengthen your professional profile
Interested clients must first book a short 15-minute Zoom intake call with Valentina. During the call, more details will be shared, and eligible clients will be supported with account setup.
Participant CommitmentsIf selected, participants are expected to:
Activate their account within two weeks of receiving access
Complete at least one course before the end of the first month
Commit to approximately 10 hours per month of learning, or about 2.5 hours per week minimum.
Stay engaged and make consistent progress throughout the learning period
This is a self-learning opportunity, so participants should be ready to manage their own time and learning schedule.

Jumpstart Refugee Talent is an international, refugee-led non-profit organization dedicated to the economic inclusion of refugees, refugee claimants, and forcibly displaced individuals. Based in Canada, it supports these individuals in finding meaningful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities that match their skills and qualifications, helping them achieve economic mobility and social integration through job placement, mentorship, and strategic advocacy with employers to empower the global refugee community.
