About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Course Manager Assistant delivers course management and technical support services to online courses. The Course Manager Assistant is expected to handle course quality assurance, term preparation coordination, and ticketing system management. Serves as a technical resource for course development and is expected to provide support on all aspects of live course maintenance. Collaborate with the design team on course builds and support faculty with LMS implementation. Provide technical interventions and problem-solving as assigned and demonstrate proficiency with all course management methods outlined by the department. This position will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining course materials lists and supporting course revisions. Work in a collaborative model with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth course launches and operations. Collaborate and communicate with faculty, design team, program team, and other stakeholders associated with online course delivery. Coordinate any special projects assigned by the Assistant Director of Learning Solutions and/or Course Managers.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide course management services to maintain the quality and functionality of online courses along with technical support to manage course issues and faculty requests during live terms
  • Oversee daily operation procedures for course preparation and maintenance, including quality assurance checks, setting up technology prior to launch, and copying content into live shells. In collaboration with design team and cross-functional teams, design and implement a coordinated term prep checklist for online courses. Coordinate scheduling and communication for Zoom sessions. Oversee the resolution of technology issues across all programs.
  • Communicate with faculty, design team, program team, and administrators regarding course issues and technical concerns. This includes monitoring the ticketing system to address repair requests and resolve issues within 12-24 hours. Communicate with faculty regarding course changes and LMS implementations to provide appropriate support and technical assistance, as well as liaison to access appropriate resources to manage the technical needs of online courses.
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate course records. This includes creating course materials lists for program staff, faculty, and design team. In collaboration with the design team, collect, analyze, and manage course content and technical requirements. Seek timely and appropriate collaboration and consultation.
  • Coordinate course revisions and redevelopment of major portions of courses based on student feedback. Support the implementation of long-term solutions for technical and design issues. Problem-solve for ongoing course improvement and quality enhancement.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in instructional design or educational technology OR equivalent demonstrated experience. Master's degree preferred. | Expertise with Canvas LMS and EdTech tools (Panopto, H5P, Google Suite, Smartsheet) with experience designing online courses | Strong problem-solving and project management skills with ability to manage course issues, use checklists, and handle competing priorities | Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work autonomously and in virtual teams while maintaining detailed documentation
