Reporting to the Head of Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, relevance, and successful delivery of our Community Services programs while supporting student success and academic excellence.

About the Role

As Course Coordinator, you'll work closely with academic staff and key stakeholders to ensure our Community Services courses remain engaging, industry-relevant, compliant, and focused on positive student outcomes.

You will contribute to curriculum enhancement, support teaching excellence, monitor course performance, and participate in quality assurance and academic governance activities. A key part of the role is fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic integrity, student engagement, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and support the successful delivery of Bachelor of Community Services course.
  • Provide guidance and support to academic staff to promote excellence in learning and teaching.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to initiatives that improve retention, engagement, and success.
  • Assess the teaching staff and map them to the relevant teaching unit(s).
  • Support curriculum review and enhancement activities to ensure course quality and industry relevance.
  • Contribute to academic quality assurance, governance, and compliance processes.
  • Ensure all course delivery, assessment, and academic operations are conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements, including TEQSA standards and Community Work Australia professional standards, and support staff to maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, students, and industry stakeholders.
  • Analyse academic and course performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

In this role, you will:

About You

You are an experienced Community Services professional with a passion for education, student success, and academic quality. You enjoy working collaboratively, supporting others, and contributing to continuous improvement in a higher education environment.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A qualification in Community Work, Social Welfare, Human Services, Social Work, or a closely related discipline.
  • Qualifications in the discipline stated above at AQF 9 level or higher in the course being coordinated.
  • A minimum of three years' relevant full-time industry experience within Community Services or associated sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in higher education course coordination, academic leadership, or program management.
  • Strong understanding of higher education learning, teaching, and assessment practices.
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) and TEQSA requirements and The National Code 2018.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment, course review, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • A current Paid/Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Desirable

  • Membership of a relevant professional association.
  • Experience participating in accreditation, re-accreditation, or quality review activities.
  • Experience leading academic projects, change initiatives, or continuous improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated engagement in scholarly activity or professional practice.
