Job Description

The Role

As part of our Global Sales Organisation and reporting to the General Manager of Latin America (LATAM), you will be tasked to ultimately build and manage a team of highly professional sales representatives, partner executives, and sales engineers to drive SUSE sales and support in Mexico.

You and your team are responsible for selling SUSE products and services across the region via both direct and indirect sales channels. You will be responsible for the performance of the business and managing / developing the team and their ability to succeed. You will set the GTM strategy for the region in alignment with the global and regional guidance and be highly skilled at identifying opportunity based on industry and product use cases.

You and your team will be responsible for the development of existing customers as well as for securing new customers who have the adequate profile for our well-established and innovative open source products and services. Part of your responsibility is to drive a sustainable and predictable business outcome, as such you are expected to drive demand with the support of marketing, product management and related functions within SUSE, you will be expected to become a trusted advisor on Open Source, and related SUSE strategies and products to the senior management level of these customer organizations as well as develop and maintain executive-level relationships to support your team's success.

In this role, the leader will ensure the go-to-market, sales execution, and customer and partner strategy leads to the hypergrowth expectations in the current SUSE long-term plan.

Focus areas

  • Developing and executing local strategic GTM plan to ensure the over achievement of sales targets, whilst expanding the customer base.
  • Lead the weekly, monthly and quarterly cadence of forecasting, ensuring Mexico attains it’s quarterly and annual budgets, whilst providing timely and accurate forecasts .
  • Lead the appropriate quarterly business planning process for your teams, ensuring it is clear how the teams will overachieve budgets, being clear on any gaps and the plans required to support.
  • Lead the Mexico pipeline & build process to ensure we have a min of 4x pipeline at all times, while maintaining the pipeline health quality metrics expected of a world-class professional sales force.
  • Lead the field teams to ensure we have all relevant pipeline and opportunity data captured in our Salesforce and forecasting systems
  • Build the necessary leadership discipline where our employees all have development plans that define how they will be successful.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Drive the collaboration required with your peers in the sales org and elsewhere in SUSE to ensure the successful execution of our global plans.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in the Tech industry with a proven track record of developing and closing multi million deals, ideally in the software segment.
  • Preferable would be a candidate that can demonstrate open source knowledge and expertise with a minimum of 5 years in that field.
  • Proven sales leader, who can demonstrate a track record of building and leading teams to budget over achievement.
  • Strong sales leadership experience in direct and indirect (channel) setups.
  • Experience with the acquisition and development of local partners and with the alignment with global partners, creating and strengthening the local ecosystem.
  • Highly experienced in leading change and growing the business. Focused on business and leadership development.

  • Work as part of the LATAM leadership team, contributing to every element of that team’s success and ensuring the creation and maintenance of a local culture aligned with all SUSE’s values, primarily related to Collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Leadership skills to successfully supervise and develop a team of direct and indirect reports, and proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
  • Preferably previous media training experience, showing the ability to interact with local press if required.
