WatchGuard Technologies is  seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Leader to drive revenue growth and manage a high-performing sales team in Japan within the cybersecurity industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the IT cybersecurity landscape, a proven track record of success in B2B sales though 2-tier distribution model with a cybersecurity vendor, and a minimum of ten years of experience managing a regional sales team. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to leadership, who can coach and mentor a team to exceed sales targets while fostering a collaborative and customer-centric culture.

Role Responsibility & Qualification

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Sales Strategy & Execution:
      • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
      • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and expand market share.
      • Oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring a consistent and effective sales process.
      • Work closely with marketing, product, and inside sales teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
      • Team Leadership & Management:
        • Lead, mentor, and motivate a regional team of sales professionals.
        • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to help team members achieve their full potential.
        • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team reviews to track progress, identify challenges, and celebrate successes.
        • Recruit, onboard, and train new sales talent as needed to build a strong and sustainable team.
        • Sales Performance & Reporting:
          • Set clear sales goals, quotas, and KPIs for the team and individual contributors.
          • Monitor and analyze sales data, pipeline health, and key metrics to forecast revenue and report on progress to senior leadership.
          • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the CRM to maintain a clean and reliable sales pipeline.
          • Customer & Partner Relations:
            • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and channel / MSP partners.
            • Act as a senior point of contact for complex deals and escalations.
            • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote our brand and solutions.
            • Qualifications:

              • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing a Japan sales team in cyber security
              • Proven background and experience in IT cybersecurity with a vendor is mandatory.
              • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales quotas consistently.
              • Understanding of cybersecurity products and services (e.g., network security, endpoint protection, cloud security, identity and access management, secure Wi-Fi, MDR, NDR).
              • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
              • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
              • Proficiency with CRM salesforce.com
              • Ability to travel in Japan as needed.
