Counterparty Risk (CCR), part of Wholesale Credit Risk, is responsible for measuring and monitoring counterparty exposures across OTC derivatives (cleared and non-cleared), Futures and Options, Prime Brokerage, Securities Financing, CCPs and Commodities. The broader CCR organization oversees exposure measurement, risk monitoring and escalation, ad hoc risk investigations and analyses, assessment of collateral and margin arrangements, ownership of credit exposure metrics, and the development and maintenance of related exposure calculation and reporting capabilities. This is a dynamic area of risk management at the intersection of markets, Credit, and analytics, offering broad product exposure and the opportunity to contribute to high-impact risk and transformation initiatives.


As a Counterparty Risk Associate (Associate) in the Asia Pacific Counterparty Credit Risk Coverage team, you evaluate and monitor counterparty exposures across derivatives, listed products, prime brokerage, and financing activities. You’ll analyze onboarding and portfolio risk, including margin and collateral considerations, and help strengthen day-to-day risk management processes. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Trading, and Credit stakeholders to form risk views and limit settings. You’ll also contribute to investigation and escalation of emerging risks during market events.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provide risk coverage for Prime Brokerage, Clearing, OTC Bilateral and Securities Financing Businesses, including but not limited to review client onboarding, assess margin adequacy; identify, analyze, monitor, and escalate counterparty exposures through various metrics (e.g. Stress, Peak, Portfolio Thresholds, concentrations)
  • Partner with Business and Credit Risk team to evaluate limit sizing for new and existing clients; form risk appetite views and provide credible challenge to business stakeholders
  • Deliver ad-hoc risk analyses in response to market events, business questions, or senior management requests; synthesize complex results into actionable conclusions.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and automation solutions using Python, AI/LLM-enabled techniques where relevant, and other data tooling to streamline monitoring and analysis processes and support more efficient decision-making
  • Partner with CCR Methodologies, Quantitative Research and Technology to improve exposure methodology changes, model limitations, overlays/compensation

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or finance-related discipline (e.g., Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in counterparty risk, market risk, credit risk or data/analytics roles.
  • Working knowledge of counterparty credit risk products and concepts, including derivatives (bilateral and cleared), Futures and Options, Prime Brokerage, Securities Financing, and margin/collateral fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, plus comfort with large datasets and analytical workflows; experience with data/visualization tooling (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx), large language model (LLM) and AI toolsets
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain technical topics to non-specialists and present clear risk conclusions.
  • Strong ownership mindset, sound judgment, and confidence to challenge assumptions while maintaining constructive stakeholder partnerships.
  • Strong execution skills: organized, control-minded, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver under time pressure.
