Job DescriptionAs a Counsellor within HCA’s expanding Telehealth Services, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a growing and diverse client group.
Day to day you will:
- Deliver evidence‑based therapeutic counselling via telehealth and in‑clinic sessions (Carlton).
- Manage a professional caseload with ethical, trauma‑informed practice.
- Conduct intake, assessment, risk identification and follow‑up.
- Refer clients to internal and external supports when appropriate.
- Work 1–2 days per week (casual) between 9am–5pm, with strong potential for long‑term ongoing work.

To take up this opportunity, you’ll bring full ongoing accreditation with a recognised national counselling registration board such as ARCAP or equivalent, along with a minimum of 2 years’ full‑time counselling experience. You’ll have tertiary qualifications in counselling or a similar discipline and experience supporting clients dealing with bereavement, separation and relationship issues, and drug and alcohol concerns.
Your understanding of culturally appropriate practice, trauma‑informed care, inclusive service delivery, and the broader health and community service system will be key to success in this role. Naturally, you will be a compassionate, client‑centred practitioner with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
