The Counsel will be responsible for leading the country's legal affairs, ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating risks in complex operations. This role requires independently and rigorously reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, as well as leading and supporting internal and external audit processes.
Repsonsibilities
- Lead country legal affairs, ensuring strict regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across complex business operations.
- Review, draft, and negotiate complex contracts (commercial, technology, vendor, and strategic alliances), ensuring legal precision and alignment with business objectives.
- Advise business, product, and engineering teams, actively participating in meetings to translate commercial needs into clear and viable legal solutions.
- Lead and execute internal and external legal audit processes, identifying risks, proposing mitigation plans, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Draft and review legal documentation in English (and Spanish when applicable), including contracts, internal policies, regulatory reports, and formal communications.
- Analyze complex business models, particularly within tech and fintech environments, providing strategic legal guidance for new initiatives and product launches.
- Manage regulatory processes and, when necessary, support the acquisition and maintenance of licenses, interacting with authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Autonomously manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in corporate, contractual, and regulatory law, with a focus on international companies.
- Proven track record in the tech and/or fintech industries, including an understanding of licensing processes and regulatory compliance.
- Solid knowledge of legal audits, internal controls, and risk management.
- Ability to understand and advise on complex business models, including digital products and cross-border operations.
- Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
- Analytical thinking and sound legal judgment for complex decision-making.
- High level of autonomy, proactivity, and prioritization skills in dynamic environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with fluent/bilingual proficiency in English.
