Position Overview:

Provides legal advice, counsel and guidance on a range of topics within own general practice area, serving as a subject matter expert in a particular business line. Performs legal research, identifies new and emerging areas of risk, and manages or provides support on specific legal projects. Prepares, drafts and reviews various legal documents, negotiating and documenting business transactions and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Develops new policies and procedures, providing updates and advice on existing policies, procedures and practices. Develops and/or conducts training and education pertaining to new or emerging developments in area of general practice.

EDUCATION:

  • Doctorate: Juris Doctorate - Law

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • ATT-Attorney
  • RIHC- Registered in House Counsel (within 6 months for out of state ATT license)

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of current laws, regulations and issues within area of practice/specialty.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedures, court system, legal processes, and other applicable laws and regulations as relevant to position or area of practice/specialty.
  • Ability to provide sound and practical advice on legal and business matters while balancing legal risks with business needs.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically in formulating legal advice and counsel.
  • Ability to influence others by persuasion, negotiation, and problem solving, and to move others to recognize and appreciate different points of view and to consider/accept alternative options.
  • Ability to research complex legal questions/issues using digital tools, libraries, legal publications and other professional resources.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to provide clear and concise legal advice and counsel to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills with a keen attention to details.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach in identifying and addressing issues and concerns.

Pay Range is $177,777.60 to $284,460.80 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
