Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled compliance lawyer specializing in immigration and global mobility to support our large, multinational clients. This role focuses on both one large client of the firm and ensuring full compliance with immigration laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, the individual will help a variety of clients manage the legal risks associated with international workforce mobility. You will play a crucial role in advising on immigration policies, regulatory compliance, and mobility risk management to facilitate smooth and lawful global workforce movements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on immigration compliance and global mobility regulations across multiple countries, including work permits, visas, residency, and related regulatory matters.
  • Develop, review, and implement immigration and mobility compliance policies and procedures aligned with global and local legal requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on immigration-related matters for international assignments, transfers, and business travel.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving immigration laws and regulatory changes globally, advising clients on their impact.
  • Support clients in managing immigration compliance audits, government inquiries, and investigations related to workforce mobility.
  • Collaborate with HR, mobility teams, and external counsel to ensure seamless compliance with immigration requirements and business objectives.
  • Advise on immigration aspects of M&A transactions, restructurings, and other corporate activities impacting workforce mobility.
  • Provide training and updates to client teams on immigration compliance and best practices.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate immigration-related contracts and agreements, including service agreements with third-party providers.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admission to practice law is required.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience specializing in immigration law and global mobility compliance, ideally within a large law firm or multinational employer.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and rest-of-world immigration regulations, visa regimes, work permit requirements, and compliance risks related to workforce mobility.
  • Proven track record advising multinational corporations on cross-border immigration compliance, mobility risk mitigation, and internal investigations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

All offers and/or employment contracts are contingent upon the successful completion of the Firm’s pre-employment screening process. This process may include verifying the candidate’s identity, confirming legal authorization to work in the offered position's location, and conducting a comprehensive background check, where permitted by local regulations.
