Job Description
The Costing Analyst will develop and manage accurate product costs for multiple programs /customers, while supporting business initiatives and special projects. Analyst will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales teams for data to generate cost for new business opportunities and quoting changes to existing product portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop cost quotations for new business opportunities and present full business cases to the organization
- Support organization with cost estimates for existing business change proposals and track program cost throughout the lifecycle
- Communicate risks/opportunities with each quote
- Review complex bill of materials for reasonableness
- Review manufacturing assumptions for reasonableness
- Work with operations team to understand investment requirements during the quoting process
- Effectively communicate and defend cost assumptions to the organization
- Develop conversion rates for manufacturing
- Analyze cost variance and financial metrics
- Support purchasing with information for supplier sourcing and negotiation
- Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements to enhance the overall department’s effectiveness
- Work on special projects as needed (make vs buy analysis, footprint moves etc..)
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in finance, operations / manufacturing, engineering in the Automotive Industry
- Strong computer skills, i.e., Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Interest in understanding both the financial and technical side of operations and manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience as a value-added team member
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally across the organization
- Occasional travel required
PRIMARY LOCATION

- Bachelor's degree in a finance-related field
