As a Global Facilities (GFAC) Cost Program Manager - Japan, you will play a critical role in leading Facilities capital planning, cost performance, and business processes supporting both the Micron F15 site and its expansion programs. This position functions as a main integration point linking Facilities, Procurement, Finance and Central Planning to ensure capital investments, business priorities and site objectives remain aligned.
This role will drive capital governance, business planning, portfolio performance, cost optimization, cashflow forecasting, and executive decision support across the facility's capital portfolio. The role demands robust program management capabilities, critical thinking, plus skills in converting complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of Facilities capital programs & business processes, providing mentorship and resolution of complex issues and gaps to support F15 expansion program and future site operational growth in cost.
  • Serve as the primary integration point across Site Leadership, Facilities & Construction, Procurement, Finance, and the centralized group to align capital investment priorities, approvals, and business objectives.
  • Manage capital budgets, cashflow forecasts, and spend transparency while driving Business Plan performance through forecast accuracy, spending compliance, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and own key performance metrics to measure capital performance against goals and commitments.
  • Ensure capital governance, audit readiness, and compliance with approval workflows, documentation standards, and accountability requirements.
  • Support startup readiness, operational handoff, and long-range capital planning to enable sustainable site growth beyond project completion.
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted working methods across planning, forecasting, reporting, and cost management processes while ensuring compliance with data governance and security requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Cost / Project Management
    • Capital / Cost Planning
    • Procurement
    • Finance
  • Working proficiency in both Japanese and English to support cost reviews, business planning activities, collaborator discussions, and executive communications within domestic and international teams.
  • Ability to navigate cost information system applications such as SAP, CALM, FMS PS. Able to pick up usage of various T-codes for facilities cost management.
  • Ability to work effectively across multicultural and global teams!
  • Proven track record to apply AI-powered efficiency and analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft's intelligent assistant, Genie, or equivalent) to improve efficiency in data analysis, reporting, business process execution, and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying Generative AI, AI Agents, Agentic AI solutions to improve planning, analytics, forecasting, project management, or financial processes.
  • Knowledge in Data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with capital project lifecycle management, budgeting, forecasting, and governance processes.
