Who You Are:
The Cost Control Manager, NRC is a senior, client‑facing role responsible for leading cost control strategy, financial oversight, and client financial communication across assigned NRC engagements. This role serves as a trusted financial partner to clients, ensuring transparency, consistency, and confidence in cost performance, forecasting, and change management. The position balances technical leadership with proactive client engagement and issue resolution.
What You Will Do:
- Lead client‑focused cost control, forecasting, and reporting activities across assigned NRC engagements.
- Serve as a primary financial point of contact for clients, supporting clear communication of cost status, trends, risks, and funding impacts.
- Ensure consistent application of NRC cost controls standards to support client governance and compliance requirements.
- Review, validate, and approve client‑facing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Analyze cost trends, variances, and risk exposure; proactively communicate insights and recommendations to clients and leadership.
- Lead financial evaluation and client communication related to change orders and scope adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to approval workflows, delegation of authority, and client contractual requirements.
- Partner closely with project management, finance, accounting, and external consultants to align internal execution with client expectations.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Cost Control Engineers to support high‑quality client deliverables.
- Review and approve monthly cost reports, cash flow projections, and executive‑level client summaries.
- Support audits, reconciliations, and client inquiries with accurate documentation and professional representation.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, financing, or accounting; or relevant professional experience.
- Advanced knowledge in construction contract documents and change management.
- Proficiency in financial and project management software (e.g., Workday, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
- Ability to work within dynamic and diverse team and environment.
- Ability to lead and mentor others.
- Seven or more years of experience in construction or project management.
Nice To Have:
- Ten or more years of experience in construction or project management preferred.
- Prior experience in a leadership or management role a plus.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities You Will Need:
- Strong collaboration skills, analytical, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
