Nordson is seeking an Operations Finance Manager who can provide both technical costing expertise and people leadership across their Johns Creek, GA and Swansboro, GA manufacturing facilities for their Packaging and Product Assembly divisions. This individual will serve as the costing SME, lead and develop a small team, and establish greater structure, accountability, and process discipline within the finance organization.
Responsibilities:
- In this role, you will lead the cost accounting department for a global leading manufacturing and technology corporation providing coaching, guidance, and clear expectations to the team.
- You will be responsible for the financial operations of two large complex manufacturing sites with oversight of 2 site Controllers
Key Priorities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for cost accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and plant financial performance.
- Lead and develop a team of two Controllers, while providing coaching, guidance, and clear expectations.
- Partner closely with Operations leadership and other finance leaders to support plant performance and business objectives.
- Gain deep understanding of the Packaging business (~$500M globally) and the operational complexities of both manufacturing locations.
- Provide financial leadership for the more complex Swansboro and Johns Creek facilities, including regular travel to Swansboro (initially more frequent, eventually approximately twice per quarter).

Qualifications
- The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA designation, and at least 8 years of progressive experience, including 2 years in a financial management role within a relevant industry
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with ERP system, SAP preferred
- Understanding of standard cost accounting and internal control concepts
- CPA and/or CMA desired
