Job Description
As a fully qualified accountant with experience as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment, you will report to the Financial Controller. As part of the finance team, your main responsibilities will be maintaining the standard costing system for our performance tapes, personal care and medical operations. This will include inventory accounting, analyzing product data, assuring it is recorded accurately and updated on a timely basis. The cost accountant will play a key role during month and quarter end close processes, working closely with the Avery Dennison Performance Tapes finance team and operations & supply chain. Another critical responsibility is to cost new products in conjunction with R&D, Marketing and Operations. Important in the role is to challenge the operational inputs in order to optimize costing and productivity. And to launch initiatives for process and efficiency improvements in costing.
Responsibilities:

Lead all activities related to product costing
-
Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to assess accurate costing information
-
Partner with the R&D, Marketing and Operations functions in new product development
-
Challenge information received when needed and provide recommendations on costing optimizations

Support Financial closing requirements and ongoing accounting processes related to the manufacturing and inventory management activities, including but not limited to:
-
Inventory control: ensuring all materials and packaging are accurately recorded
-
Standard cost calculation and maintenance
-
Responsible for Bill of Material timely update and accuracy

Lead financial reporting and analysis, as well as ensuring compliance related controls, for:
-
Products with quality defects in collaboration with the Quality department
-
Inventory count and valuation and inventory adjustments
-
Operational scrap
-

Drive digitization and process improvement and documentation
-
Support compliance activities and audits: Assist internal and external audits when necessary and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance controls.

Support ad-hoc activities
Qualifications
-
Bachelor in Finance & Accounting. Masters degree is a plus.

Any relevant working experience is considered as a plus
-
Excellent computer literacy including advanced excel knowledge and ERP system experience. Digital acumen (AI, digitization projects) - is considered as a plus

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Challenge inputs to get accurate results.

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills with the ability to articulate and present complex concepts in a straightforward manner.

Proactive and independent self-starter, ability to work under pressure and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.

Languages: Dutch and English on business professional level.
