Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Cost Accountant I based at our Berea, Kentucky Plant

Position Primary Purpose

The primary functions of this position are the ongoing integrity of the monthly inventory, cost of sales, and standard cost for the Berea plant. Other responsibilities include product cost analysis, manufacturing variance analysis, preparation of various analyses for management decision making and serving on cross-functional project teams relating to cost and inventory.

What You Will Do:

  • Participate in project teams as required.
  • Participate in the annual physical inventory.
  • Conduct regular audits of finished goods inventory.
  • Perform analysis and reconciliation of Cost of Sales.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy and provide timely data to management.
  • Develop and ensure product costs for new product development.
  • Develop an accurate cost guide for products produced.
  • Maintain accuracy of databases and cost data contained within.
  • Work overtime at month-end and for special projects, as required.
  • Handle sensitive and/or confidential information with discretion.

What You Will Need (Education):

  • Batchelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Demonstrates strong computer literacy and advanced spreadsheet skills.

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Three–five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Technical background in inventory and cost accounting methodologies.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and explain manufacturing variances.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
