Summary Generated by Built In
We're looking for a Correspondent Marketing Manager to build our credibility and drive market penetration with a sophisticated, capital markets-oriented audience — the finance professionals who evaluate us as a counterparty long before they ever take a meeting.
This role looks different from traditional marketing, but it isn't less marketing — it's marketing built for an audience that responds to research, credibility, and expertise rather than volume. You'll shape thought leadership, market intelligence, and sales-facing materials that directly support account penetration and pipeline growth, including deep research and analytical support for our Market Opportunity Report, led by Correspondent Sales, which sizes the non-Agency / non-QM correspondent landscape and shapes go-to-market objectives and tactics. This is a player-coach role — you'll set the strategy and lead quarterly business reviews with the sales team, while staying hands-on with the content and relationships that build our credibility over time.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Market intelligence & growth strategy
  • Provide deep research and analytical support for the Market Opportunity Report, led by Correspondent Sales — researching the non-Agency / non-QM correspondent landscape, sizing growth opportunity, and helping build out the objectives and tactics needed to penetrate target markets
  • Own the Correspondent marketing strategy overall, with a focus on building institutional credibility that translates directly into account penetration and pipeline growth
Sales enablement
  • Build capital markets-facing sales materials — pitch decks, positioning documents, and due diligence materials — that sales uses directly in live conversations with counterparties
  • Partner with Sales Training to build marketing-informed enablement materials and programs
  • Lead regular check-ins and quarterly business reviews with the sales team, staying close to what the business needs
  • Build tools and programs that support long-term relationship-building with sellers, rather than transactional lead generation
Thought leadership & market presence
  • Develop thought leadership content — blog posts, bylined articles, think pieces, and a monthly or quarterly non-Agency / non-QM newsletter and market insight report aimed at a capital markets and finance audience
  • Partner with leadership and subject matter experts to secure speaking engagements and panel placements that establish the business as a trusted voice in the space
  • Own rapid response to press inquiries and market developments, protecting our credibility in real time
  • Manage a lighter, more deliberate social media presence, including announcements like securitizations and new hires that reinforce institutional credibility
  • Own our presence at Correspondent conferences and events, where the real work happens in the private, pre-scheduled meetings — in partnership with the Events team
Operations
  • Manage marketing budgets and vendor relationships, keeping spend aligned to priorities
  • Delegate work to the shared production team while staying hands-on enough to step in on content, data, or event work when it's needed
  • Keep leadership and cross-functional partners informed on marketing plans, progress, and results

Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally including B2B, financial services, or institutional audiences
  • Strong writing and content development skills — comfortable shaping thought leadership and market commentary, not just promotional copy
  • Comfort with market research and analysis — able to size an opportunity, spot trends, and translate findings into clear objectives and tactics alongside sales
  • Experience partnering with a sales team, including running regular business reviews
  • Budget and vendor management experience
  • A polished, credible voice — calm and confident rather than promotional, able to speak to a capital markets and finance audience
  • Familiarity with capital markets, secondary marketing, or finance concepts is a strong plus
  • Comfort operating as a player-coach — setting strategy while staying hands-on with execution

Why This Role Matters:

Correspondent sellers are a deliberate, research-driven audience who decide whether to trust us before they ever sit down with sales — and that trust directly shapes which accounts open up and how fast they move. This role turns credibility-building into a growth lever: fueling sales' market opportunity work with real research and analysis, arming sales with materials that hold up in front of sophisticated counterparties and keeping our name in front of the industry through thought leadership and rapid response. It gives this channel a dedicated owner instead of a shared, stretched resource — one whose work shows up directly in account penetration and pipeline results, not just brand perception.

Key Competencies:
  • Market Research & Analysis: Sizes market opportunity, spots trends, and translates research into clear strategic objectives and tactics
  • Content & Thought Leadership: Produces credible, research-backed content — articles, reports, and commentary — for a sophisticated finance audience
  • Sales Partnership & Enablement: Builds materials sales relies on in live counterparty conversations and runs effective quarterly business reviews
  • Strategic Ownership: Sets marketing strategy and direction for the Correspondent channel while remaining hands-on with execution
  • Relationship & Reputation Management: Manages press response, event presence, and social presence in ways that protect and build institutional credibility
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Oversees marketing spend and vendor relationships in alignment with business priorities
How This Role Demonstrates Our Values:
  • Integrity: Builds credibility with a discerning finance audience through research-backed, honest positioning rather than promotional messaging
  • Collaboration: Partners closely with Correspondent Sales, Sales Training, Events, and leadership to align marketing work with business priorities
  • Excellence: Delivers polished, capital markets-caliber content and materials that hold up in front of sophisticated counterparties
  • Critical Curiosity: Continuously researches market trends and the non-Agency / non-QM correspondent landscape to sharpen strategy and sales enablement

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package, including base salary and performance-based bonus opportunities
  • 401(k) plan with 100% company match up to 4%
  • Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, vision, HSA, and FSA options
  • Generous paid time off: 20 days PTO, company holidays, and sick time
  • Paid parental leave
  • Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): mental health, financial, and wellness support
  • Professional development: tuition reimbursement and growth opportunities
  • Commuter and transit benefits

Successful applicants will exemplify strong ethics, integrity, respect for others, accountability for decisions and actions, and good citizenship.
