We're currently seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Office located in Philadelphia, PA. Big Four accounting and multi-family Real Estate experience is preferred. This role will have a hybrid work schedule, no out of town travel and a steady workflow without a busy season.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with company accounting policies and GAAP
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain account reconciliations to ensure accuracy with completeness of financial records
  • Investigate and explain P&L variances compared to budget, forecasts, and prior periods
  • Assist with quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, including gathering and preparing supporting schedules and documentation for Forms 10-Q and 10-K
  • Assist with quarterly review and annual audit requests
  • Research accounting issues and provide detailed explanations to external auditors
  • Assist in approving payable invoices to ensure proper coding
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial processes
  • Ad hoc assignments and other special projects as requested by management

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with Entrata accounting software preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-starter able to work within a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • 2-3 years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multifamily real estate accounting preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong documentation abilities
