Coupang Global Security is seeking a motivated Senior Corporate Security Manager in Japan. The position will provide physical security expertise, contract oversight and support for a variety of security projects across Coupang’s Global Security operations in Japan. The candidate is responsible for conducting physical security assessments, badging operations, emergency security management, security vendor oversight, daily inspections, and audits of the security environments to include but not limited to, the Enterprise Security Systems (ESS) and other access control related systems, The candidate will have or develop expertise in the daily operations. The candidate will directly report to the Head of Coupang Corporate Security and have daily interaction with the various internal/external stakeholders. The candidate will have vendor management experience and knowledge of access control software, hardware and procedures. You will report on progress, issues, and problem areas while implementing mitigation measures to meet the Company standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring all employees, contractors, and visitors understand and agree with Coupang's physical security policies and procedures while present in and around Coupang owned or operated facilities including offices and fulfillment centers.
Leads and manages direct reports on their daily performance to provide proper guidance.
Monitors and evaluates subcontractor/consultant performance to ensure successful completion of the deliverable within the scope of work.
Conducts various physical security risk assessments of all Coupang Corporate Offices (including subsidiaries’ facilities) and Fulfillment Centers in Japan.
Identifies security gaps, documents remedies, and ensures the sites adhere to Coupang Physical Security’s standards and guidelines.
Collaborates cross-functionally to address issues with the video management system, access control system, intrusion detection, and emergency notification systems of a site.
Evaluates, modifies, and recommends improvement to existing methods, concepts, and procedures for all security operations.
Ensures that all protest activities, criminal incidents and security violations are reported.
Observes and reports on all contractor related security violations to include but not limited to security technology deficiencies as well as internal and external security instances.
Responsible for escalating all site level issues to the Head of Corporate Security
Responsible for conducting site level risk assessments for responsible sites or as assigned.
Produces a weekly and monthly Site Security Status Reports and ensures that all security incidents are reported on as needed based on severity of the incident.
Conducts quarterly security drills and exercises.
Prepare, coordinate and conduct facility evacuation and shutdown at the site during an emergency.
Conducts daily inspections of the guard force operations, visitor logs, Master Key Program, badging, access control systems and video monitoring system.
Ensures the Emergency Action Plans (Fire, Unauthorized Person, Workplace Violence, etc.) for the Facility are aligned with EHS and the current operating environment.
Acts as the operational security point of contact at the site during an emergency.
Conducts various investigative duties
Knowledge of emerging trends for security industry good practices is necessary.
Up to 30% travel possible both within Japan and internationally.
Basic Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, can be substituted with work experience.
- 5-7 years of security management, military, corporate security, law enforcement experience.
- 3 years of guard force operation management
- 3 years of corporate office badging management
- Professional knowledge of corporate office facility operations
