We are seeking a Corporate Safety Lead to design our process and lead our Corporate Safety Programs. You should have industrial electro/mechanical knowledge, have effective program management skills and have a deep understanding of safety regulatory requirements, application and accountability concepts for all environmental, health and safety elements in support of a growing company operating in multiple environments. The goal is to ensure our corporate workplace actively supports Employee occupational health & safety and meets all legal expectations.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:

  • Adapt State, Federal and existing Company requirements into a comprehensive Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) program with specific policies for use in all Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics corporate headquarters and engineering laboratory activities.
  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of the Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics Corporate Safety Team, including project assignment, project evaluation and continuous improvement. Be responsible for the management of policy development, resources and ongoing EHS program management.
  • Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships with internal Stakeholders, Third Party Contractors and regulatory oversight bodies with a goal of open dialogue and agreement between all groups.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any & all safety issues using established Walmart ASR practices including required documentation and communication to effective regulators in a timely manner.
  • Lead EHS incident investigations and risk assessment activities and serve as Subject Matter Expert.
  • Efficiently manage budgetary resources for all assigned safety programs as directed.
  • Support occasional travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Develop and Implement safety metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to demonstrate effective use of safety resources, high utilization factors and effective safe operations among participants. Create and give reports on the effectiveness of safety programs to large audiences and senior level leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Safety Manager.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the design, development, implementation and execution of Environmental Health and Safety regulatory compliance programs, preferably with a focus on Regulatory Reporting, HazCom and OSHA General Industry Standards.
  • Significant experience with regulatory requirements applicable to Electrical Safety, Office Safety, Industrial Ergonomics, and incident response & documentation.
  • Preferred experience in highly technical environments with electro-mechanical systems, robotics, advanced software and industrial automation concepts.
  • Professional certification such as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), General Safety Practitioner (GSP) or other related certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering, Public Health or other related program preferred -OR- equivalent experience accepted.
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills necessary to independently anticipate, analyze, advise, recommend, and implement solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience supervising a diverse group of professionals, delegating issues effectively across all levels, and directing staff on institutional and diverse projects and programs.
  • Preferred to have experience building a Qualified Electrical Worker program and extensive knowledge in NFPA 70E.
