POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Safety Director is responsible for developing, leading, and executing enterprise-wide safety strategy across all business units, locations, and field operations. This role will establish a proactive safety culture, drive measurable improvements in safety performance, reduce operational risk, and create sustainable processes that support business growth and value creation.

As Zeus continues to scale through organic growth and acquisitions, the Corporate Safety Director will build the safety infrastructure necessary to support a growing multi-location organization. This leader will assess current safety performance, identify gaps, implement standardized programs, develop accountability systems, and partner with leaders to embed safety into everyday decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Safety Strategy

  • Develop and execute enterprise safety strategy aligned with business growth, operational priorities, and value creation objectives.
  • Establish a consistent safety operating model across all locations, including standards, processes, metrics, and accountability.
  • Assess current safety performance, identify critical risks, and create a roadmap to improve safety outcomes.
  • Serve as enterprise safety advisor to executive and operational leadership.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise safety programs, including:

Safety Program Development

    • Safety policies and procedures
    • Field safety standards and job hazard assessments
    • Incident reporting and investigation processes
    • Near-miss reporting
    • Training programs
    • Vehicle, PPE, and contractor safety standards
    • OSHA compliance programs
  • Establish scalable safety processes, tools, and playbooks that support growth.
  • Develop safety dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into performance, trends, and risk.
  • Track leading and lagging indicators, including incidents, claims, training completion, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve safety performance and business outcomes.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risk.

Safety Culture & Operational Partnership

  • Partner with operational leaders to embed safety into daily decision-making and field execution.
  • Build accountability through clear expectations, coaching, communication, and training.
  • Develop safety engagement initiatives, including toolbox talks and recognition programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective action management.

Acquisition Integration & Value Creation

  • Partner with M&A to assess safety maturity, risks, and opportunities during due diligence.
  • Integrate acquired companies into Zeus safety standards and operating practices.
  • · Build repeatable safety processes that support platform scalability and value creation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, Business, Operations, or related field; advanced degree or professional safety certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferably within field service, construction, fire and security, electrical, HVAC, or similar industries.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management systems, risk mitigation practices, and workplace safety standards.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing enterprise safety programs that improve performance, reduce risk, and drive cultural change.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a multi-location environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and training skills, with the ability to translate safety requirements into practical solutions for employees and leaders.
  • Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations to improve business outcomes.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives while maintaining focus on critical safety objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Experience developing safety metrics, dashboards, and reporting processes to support leadership decision-making.
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and influence across all levels of an organization, including executive leadership, operations teams, and field employees.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or high-growth organizations preferred.
  • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility required to support business needs, including occasional evenings or weekends.

  • Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%) to support safety assessments, training, leadership meetings, and operational initiatives across Zeus locations.
