Amscot is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to support our collections legal department.

Preferred QualificationsResponsibilities
- File intake, initial review, skip tracing, and case setup.
- Prepare documents for attorney review, including demands, pleadings, correspondence, affidavits, judgments, motions, settlements, and other litigation-related documents.
- Handle all aspects of garnishment proceedings, including asset identification, preparation of court documents, processing Answers and Claims of Exemption, negotiations, recording satisfactions, and garnishment reporting.
- Maintain and update the case management system.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for judicial assistants, Clerk’s Offices, and county mediation services.
- Process all incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.
- Review bankruptcy notices and notify appropriate parties within the organization.
- Prepare and electronically file state and federal court documents through applicable filing systems.
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, and scheduling requirements.
- Ensure coverage for all scheduled hearings.
- Maintain ownership of case progression by monitoring deadlines and proactively advancing matters through standard litigation milestones.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or litigation support experience preferred.
- Experience with collections litigation, creditor rights, garnishments, or bankruptcy matters strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of the Florida Electronic Filing Portal, CM/ECF, and PACER preferred.
- Working knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and case lifecycles.
- Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage critical deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and proactively manage case workflow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally manage sensitive and high-pressure interactions.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
