The BDO Corporate Governance Graduate Programme offers graduates the opportunity to develop a career at the heart of how organisations are governed and managed. 
As part of the Corporate Governance team, you will work closely with clients to help them meet their regulatory and statutory obligations while supporting effective governance practices. You will gain exposure to a range of company secretarial and compliance activities, working with organisations of various sizes and across different sectors. 
The role provides valuable insight into corporate structures, board operations, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks. You will work alongside experienced professionals, developing your technical knowledge, attention to detail, and client relationship skills while gaining a strong understanding of the governance environment in which organisations operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Annual Returns Filing - Prepare and file annual returns, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met and that filings are accurate and timely. 
  • Board and Shareholder Meetings - Draft minutes for board and shareholder meetings, accurately capturing discussions and decisions to ensure compliance with corporate governance standards. 
  • Company Incorporation and Strike-offs - Assist in the incorporation of new companies, as well as the striking off dormant companies, managing the entire process from documentation to final registration. 
  • Statutory Forms Filing – Preparation and filing of statutory forms with the relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Ad Hoc Projects and Administrative Support – Assist with a variety of ad hoc company secretarial, governance, and compliance-related assignments as required, supporting the team in delivering high-quality client service and ensuring the efficient management of corporate governance matters. 


Requirements and Essential skills
  • Expected or achieved a 2.1 Honours Degree in Business, Law, Corporate Governance, or a related discipline. 
  • A demonstrated interest in Corporate Governance, company secretarial practice, compliance, and regulatory affairs through academic studies, work experience, extracurricular activities, or personal learning. 
  • Committed to completing, or currently undertaking, the Master of Science in Management and Corporate Governance with University of Ulster, demonstrating a strong interest in developing a professional career in governance, compliance, and company secretarial practice. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective professional relationships. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
  • A commitment to pursuing a relevant professional qualification where applicable. 
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Ireland and are required to indicate any current or future employment permit or visa sponsorship requirements as part of your application.
