Position summary

As Corporate Development Associate, you are responsible for building a proactive pipeline of acquisition, partnership and strategic investment opportunities and for supporting the execution of deals. You will also be involved in post-merger integration activities at acquired companies and lead selected strategic projects and growth initiatives.

Essential Functions

• Conduct market research in defined search fields and compile information on market structure, trends, key players etc.
• Search for attractive acquisition targets and investment opportunities in defined search fields
• Work collaboratively with other departments to identify and evaluate targets
• Support contacting of targets and arrange meetings with owner / senior management of targets
• Develop detailed financial models and support target valuation and business case modelling
• Coordinate and manage due diligence activities with internal and external parties and prepare finding reports for due diligence committee meetings
• Assist in preparing and negotiating term sheets, letter of intents, final offers, purchase agreements, partnership agreements etc.
• Prepare summary materials on potential transactions for presentation to targets, Oetiker Head of Corporate Development, Oetiker Executive Board and Oetiker Board of Directors
• Assist post-merger integration team in integration planning and execution activities
• Prepare presentations and analyses on various topics for senior management
• Work on other strategic projects and growth initiatives as assigned by the Head Corporate Development
• Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion throughout all stages of the deal process.

• Master’s degree in business, finance, economics or similar field
• 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in corporate development, M&A consulting or business development

• Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
• Detail-oriented, organized and a self-starter - able to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize based on business needs and urgency
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – Able to communicate and work effectively with stakeholders across multiple locations and business functions
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Cross-border deal experience is a strong plus
