Summary of This Role
The Global Payments’ Corporate Development group is a lean, nimble team based in the company’s
Atlanta headquarters. This team plays a pivotal role in strategic projects, with a focus on mergers,
acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures worldwide. The Corporate Development team collaborates closely with C-suite, business units and regional leadership to formulate and execute M&A strategy for the organization.
Corporate Development is a core part of Global Payments’ strategy, and the team is very active. In the past four years, Global Payments has executed more than 23 transactions with a total value of ~$34 billion.
Responsibilities
The Corporate Development Associate will be an integral part of the team, actively participating in
every aspect of Global Payments’ M&A efforts. The team takes a collaborative, hands-on approach,
and the Associate will work with more senior team members on small, fast-moving deal teams. The
associate’s key responsibilities will include:

Financial modeling and analyses

Preparation of presentations for Global Payments management and Board of Directors

Industry and company research

Interaction and coordination with colleagues across Global Payments, as well as external parties including investment bankers, private equity firms, and other companies
What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?
-
At least 2 years in an investment banking analyst program (M&A, industry coverage or
leveraged finance group) -
Bachelor’s degree with a business degree preferred
-
Extensive experience with financial analysis in Excel, including merger models and LBO / cash flow modeling
-
Familiarity with principles of valuation of public and private companies, including comparable companies and precedent transactions analyses

Understanding of financial markets, M&A deal process, and public companies
-
Knowledge of payments or software industries preferred
-
Familiarity with FactSet, Capital IQ and Wall Street research
-
Strong attention to detail
-
Accountability and ownership of one’s work product

Ability to balance multiple fast-paced, unpredictable projects

Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
