Position Summary
The Corporate Development Associate works directly alongside the Sr. Director of Corporate Development on financial modeling and strategic initiatives that shape CEC’s growth. CEC is a leader in electrical infrastructure and mission critical systems, with projects at the upper end of its portfolio routinely exceeding $200 million in contract value. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role suited to someone with training in a rigorous analytical environment, such as investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting, who is ready to apply that skill set inside the business.
This role serves as a close partner and thought contributor across a wide range of initiatives, including financial modeling, board and executive-ready materials, and strategic planning. It offers direct exposure to senior leadership and to the full lifecycle of live projects, with early opportunity to take on large project ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support budgeting, financial analysis, strategic planning, and M&A transactions.
- Proactively spotlight and illustrate strategic insights that help drive decisions and refine the Company’s strategic direction.
- Support the creation of executive- and board-ready presentation materials.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and executive leadership to analyze performance and identify opportunities.
- Contribute to building systems and processes that scale with the company to improve forecasting and data transparency.
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor benchmarks to inform strategy.
- Serve as a key contributor on cross-functional initiatives supporting corporate growth.
- Perform other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or a similar analytical role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience with financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence
- Experience in a high-growth, industrials, infrastructure, or services-oriented business preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to create compelling, executive-level presentations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to translate data into actionable insights.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
