Job Summary
A member of the Corporate Credit Team, sitting within the Corporate & International Banking team, and will execute both the onshore and cross border businesses from a corporate credit perspective, working with a defined portfolio of customers and acting as key liaison to Credit for sanctioning purposes.Support business growth while maintaining a robust Wholesale Credit Risk control framework with a strong focus on end to end credit process (including but not limited to New Business / Credit committee preparations), pricing computations, excess approvals and reporting, annual reviews, covenant management, financial statements extraction/analysis, Credit Systems management, post-sanction documentation follow-up, and efficient end-to-end disbursement processing for standard transactions. Ensure accurate MI and timely responses to governance and audit requirements.
Job Description
Risk Management
Execute annual / interim reviews and new/adhoc requests for standard-to-moderate complexity transactions under the Team Leader guidance.
Ensure appropriate follow ups and escalations to minimise overdue annual / interim reviews in line with applicable processes.
Support Business and Credit teams in extraction, analysis of Audited and Management account and loading of Audited accounts onto the Bank’s credit application system within agreed Service Level Agreements.
Highlight to Business and Credit teams any issues and concerns noted from the financials (Audited and Management) or early warning signs of deteriorating credit profile that may need to be addressed with the customers to ensure the quality of borrowings does not deteriorate.
Manage follow-up documentation post-approval; coordinate with Operations on conditions precedent (CPs) closure and security perfection.
Work with relevant teams (RCU/Ops/Legal) to process end-to-end disbursements for standard facilities, including: CPs, new facilities, STLs, Trade Loans, Leasing facilities, ensuring completeness and control checks.
Monitor daily excesses & cheque payments within guidelines, escalating exceptions promptly.
Support audit requests and implement remediation actions as assigned.
Manage the covenants testing and conditions monitoring with regards to its integrity (capturing), notification, tracking, testing, flagging overdue,
Escalation of and failed / breached covenants to Risk sanctioning office with recommendations for appropriate actions, issuance of breach notification letters and follow-up on the acknowledgments.
Act as a point of contact for both internal and external audits. Responsible for the rectification and documentation of any recommendations arising out of Audit/Assurance exception findings within Corporate Credit/RCU teams.
Ensure robust and error free Management Information (MI) as produced by Risk Control Unit for use in Risk/Business Governance forums and Regulatory reporting.
Support for new projects rollouts.
Strictly adhere to Credit processes and procedures to ensure overall impairment and Loan Loss Rate are managed within agreed thresholds.
Enhance control environment through monthly participation in Portfolio, EWL meetings to discuss Credit/RCU related matters.
Ensure that there are no regulatory or conduct breaches within Client Servicing Unit
Business Growth
Support in facilitating and coordination of New Business Committees (NBC) and preparation of the new business committee papers with input from RMs and Product teams
Review portfolio under support for appetite and identification of lending opportunities for the Business.
Support Credit and Business in guiding sector focus through research, writing and cascading sector reports.
Support Business Heads and Wholesale Credit Head in identifying potential target names to which the Bank can lend.
Assist in pricing calculations for pricing considerations.
Wholesale Credit/Business Governance Forums
Support in facilitating and coordination of C&IB Early Warning List (EWL) & Risk Reporting within agreed Service Level Agreements.
Support in facilitation and coordination of CI&B files at credit committees, both local and overseas (South Africa)
Efficiency
Champion embedment of change management initiatives in support of process improvements, cost reductions and efficiency.
Participate in review of Wholesale credit procedure manuals/maps with the aim of enabling business, improving existing processes and controls.

Business Risk Partnership:
Ensure a consistent quality of service to Business stakeholders.
Support in monitoring service and delivery in line with business needs.
Work in partnership with colleagues and proactively anticipate, respond to and seek to exceed the expectations of customers.
Attend portfolio meetings with the Credit Manager’s and Relationship Manager’s if problem related issues are to be discussed / need to be resolved.
Ensure knowledge on RCU guidelines and best practice sharing across the Corporate Credit and Business stakeholders.
Jointly with Credit Manager’s and Relationship Manager’s, participate in
customer visits to better understand their needs, improve of customer service and understand reasons for covenant breaches (where applicable) before engaging the Risk sanctioning office.
Participate in Business team activities, launches and social occasions.
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree (Business related field) and/or ACCA/CFA / other relevant professional qualifications
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Risk and Banking / Financial Services
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of commercial banking credit risk operations, credit analysis and controls.
Knowledge of Financial Statements analysis.
Knowledge of Wholesale Credit Risk policies and procedures.
Knowledge of local regulations guidelines relating to lending
Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Concepts.
