SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Contractor to join our dynamic legal team within the fast-paced EdTech industry. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of legal matters, supporting the organization’s mission to transform education through technology while ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and enabling business growth.
The Contractor will support a wide range of commercial and transactional matters and will work across functional areas. This is a US-based, remote position reporting directly to the company’s Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel.
LOCATION100% Remote - Anywhere within the US
RESPONSIBILITIES- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including SaaS contracts, software licensing, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements
- Support the legal team in responding to requests for proposals (RFPs) and customer contractual requirements
- Conduct legal research on emerging EdTech issues, regulatory updates, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, HR) to provide timely legal guidance
- Maintain accurate and organized legal records and databases
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or with a law firm
- Experience in or in-depth knowledge of standard contractual provisions preferably relating to provision of SaaS services and/or software licensing and relevant privacy terms in the US and abroad for a technology provider.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented, superior organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments
